Payout methods on Contra

You can choose from various payout methods to receive your earnings on Contra. Here's an overview of the available payout methods, their timelines and fees:


Bank transfers: Bank transfers are secure, convenient and your earnings are deposited straight into your bank account. Please see our payout support list to see if we support your country for local bank transfers.

  • Payout timeline: Timelines vary depending on account type and country location.

    • Select countries will see higher withdrawal timelines: 5-7 days

    • Most countries will see fast withdrawal timelines: 0-3 days

  • Fees: All bank transfers are subject to a processor fee charged by the payment processor β†’ see the full breakdown here.


Debit card (USA Only): If you are located in the USA, you can choose to receive payments directly to your debit card. This method provides a quick access to your earnings.

  • Payout timeline: Debit payouts usually take 30 minutes. This can sometimes take a few hours.

  • Fees: Payouts to a U.S. bank account are free.


USDC Crypto: Freelancers in most countries have the option of receiving payments in USDC crypto. This option offers various benefits such as decentralization, low transaction fees, and quick processing times.

  • Payout timeline: Instant, typically within a few minutes.

  • Fees: Crypto payouts powered by Coinbase are subject to real time gas fees but are typically free ($0).


PayPal: Most freelancers can use PayPal for payouts. However, availability may vary based on location and other factors, potentially leading to limitations or exceptions.

  • Payout timeline: Typically within a few minutes. Timelines vary.

  • Fees: PayPal charges 2% when withdrawing funds from Contra to a linked PayPal account.


Payoneer: This is our newest flexible payout option for freelancers and is available in most countries.

  • Payout timeline: Typically within a few minutes. Timelines vary.

  • Fees: Payoneer charges a $3 + a 1-2% fee when withdrawing funds from Contra to a linked Payoneer account. In some country locations, Payoneer charges a flat fee up to $15 β†’ see the full list here.
