Experiencing a delayed payout can be stressful, but don't worry, our team is dedicated to helping you receive your payment successfully. Here's what you can do to check on the status of your delayed payout and the common reasons why it might be delayed.
Understanding Payout Timelines
Depending on which payout method you choose, your payout can take up to 7 business days to make its way to you. If you are still within the timeline for your payout method, your payout is not delayed.
Standard vs. Faster Payouts
Contra supports two payout options: Standard and Faster payouts.
Standard payouts are subject to a 4-day safety-clearance period in addition to the provider timeline.
To access your funds sooner, choose the faster payout option. Faster payouts gives you the option to access your earnings before the 4-day safety-clearance period is complete. Faster payouts charge a 2% fee, which is reduced to 1% for Pro or 0% for Max.
How to Check Your Payout Status
Navigate to your Contra wallet.
Find your payout and click on the down arrow next to the amount on the far right.
If your payout status is “Pending”, you will see the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
Common Reasons for Payout Delays
Bank Processing Time: Bank processing times are typically 1-3 business days but may vary based on your location and account type. We recommend giving your bank 2 business days to process your payment after being marked as complete.
4 day security hold on Standard Payouts: If you choose the Standard Payout option, there is a 4-day security hold. Your payment will then be released to your payment method after that 4 day window, and that can take up to 3-5 additional business days to reach you depending on your payout method.
First Payouts May Take Longer: The initial transfers to your account may take a little longer. Here are the standard international payout times:
Bank account and debit card for international payouts typically take 5-7 days but can take up to 10-14 business days.
Crypto payouts typically take minutes but can take up to a few hours depending on the blockchain.
Payouts from Contra to a connected Payoneer account are typically instant.
Payouts from Contra to a connected PayPal account are typically instant.
