Check your payout method

Most failed payouts are caused by outdated or incorrect payment details. Double-check that your payout method is up to date and that all information is accurate.

Common reasons payouts fail

Here are some of the most common reasons payouts fail through Airwallex:

  • Name mismatch: The name on your Contra wallet must match the beneficiary name on your payout account exactly.

  • Business vs. individual account conflict: If you set up your wallet as an individual but want payouts sent to a business account, you’ll need to switch your setup. Contact us at hello@contra.com so we can reset your wallet and help you onboard as a business through Stripe.

Try a different payout method

If your current payout method continues to fail, try adding a new one. Switching to an alternative payout method can help avoid provider-specific issues.

Reach out for help

If you haven’t heard from our team or still see issues, contact us at hello@contra.com. We’ll help you update your account and clarify why the payout failed. Once resolved, we’ll work with you to reprocess the payout.

Waiting on funds?

If your funds haven’t appeared in your wallet yet, don’t worry. Any returned funds are held securely with Stripe to avoid unnecessary conversion fees. Since Contra wallets operate in USD, this helps prevent currency-related charges.
