As a freelancer with Contra, you're given total control over the management of your paid projects. Contra's versatile platform accommodates various project structures to meet your unique requirements.
Project Structures
Escrow Payments: The client gets invoiced at regular intervals based on a fixed fee or hours worked.
One-Time Projects: Ideal for individual projects with specific start and end dates.
Milestone Projects: Suited for projects involving multiple checkpoints.
Invoice Billing: The client gets invoiced at regular intervals based on a fixed fee or hours worked.
Fixed Payments: Perfect for continuous projects with an uncertain end date.
Hourly Payments: Great for continuous projects with a defined hourly rate, but an unknown total number of hours needed to complete the project.
Creating Proposals
Creating and sending proposals on Contra is straightforward. Navigate to your "Projects & Invoices" page and click on "Send Proposal". You'll have to follow the prompts to include a timeline, details, and deliverables before sending the proposal to any client, whether they are on Contra or not.
Invoicing
Invoicing is also streamlined on Contra. To issue an invoice, go to your "Projects & Invoices" tab and select "Send Invoice". You can even add invoices to active paid projects should there be a need for additional revisions or deliverables. These invoices remain payable even after project completion.
Tracking Your Invoices
To monitor your invoices, head to your "Projects & Invoices" tab, select a Project from your list, and go to the invoice tab within the Project to check your invoice status.
