At Contra, we are dedicated to providing a fair and transparent platform for all our users. We understand that disputes can occasionally occur between freelancers and Clients. This guide outlines our refund policy and explains how we handle such situations.

Resolving Disputes through Mutual Agreement

In the event of a dispute, both the freelancer and the Client have the option to reach a mutual agreement on issuing a refund to the Client when necessary. This approach encourages a just resolution without the need for further escalation.

Key Points About Refunds in Our Contract Terms

When initiating work on Contra, both parties sign a contract that includes specific terms about refunds:

  • No Automatic Refunds: Once the Client's designated payment method is charged through our Platform, the charge is final and cannot be refunded unless both the Client and the freelancer reach a mutual agreement.

  • Upfront Payments are Non-Refundable: Upfront payments made by the Client are not refundable, ensuring that freelancers receive compensation for their time and effort invested in the project.

  • One-Off Invoice Payments are Non-Refundable: Payments made for one-off invoices are considered final and cannot be refunded. These payments are made for specific, completed services.

  • Released Project Payments are Non-Refundable: Once a project payment has been released to the freelancer, it is considered final and cannot be refunded. This policy respects the work completed by the freelancer.

  • Payment Method Charge: When transacting on the Platform, the Client acknowledges that Contra may charge their designated payment method for the freelancer’s fees, as agreed upon in the service agreement.

Understanding the terms and conditions of our refund policy ensures a smoother transaction process and aids in maintaining a fair and transparent relationship between freelancers and Clients on Contra.
