At Contra, we value our community and are committed to ensuring a fair and smooth process for resolving disputes. Here, we outline our dispute resolution process to help you navigate any potential disagreements or issues that may arise during your project.

Step 1: Attempt Direct Resolution

As a first step, we encourage you to reach out directly to the other party involved in the dispute. Clear communication can often resolve issues before they escalate. Here are some tips for this initial contact:

  • Be clear and specific about your concerns.

  • Try to remain calm and professional.

  • Offer constructive solutions that can benefit both parties.

Step 2: Use Contra's Resolution Assistance

If you cannot reach a mutual agreement through direct discussion, Contra offers resolution assistance. This is in line with our commitment to you and all our community members and is outlined in our contract.

Step 3: Escrow and Independent Arbitration

When a dispute is raised, the funds in question are held in escrow for three months. This timeframe allows ample opportunity for an agreement to be reached or a resolution to be provided by an independent third party. Please note that upfront payments and payments that have already been transferred out of a Contra wallet are not eligible for refunds.

If a mutual agreement cannot be reached, you have the option to take the dispute to an independent third party for arbitration or court action.

Step 4: Submitting a Dispute on Contra

To officially raise a dispute via Contra, follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to your project.

  • Click on "Actions".

  • Click on "End project".

Here, you will have the option to submit a dispute or propose a project cancellation.

Step 5: Agreeing on a Resolution

After a dispute is submitted, we will ask both parties to agree on a resolution. Contra will assist in processing refunds if needed and can facilitate the project cancellation if it comes to that point.

We hope this guide helps you understand our dispute resolution process better. Remember, our aim is to ensure fairness and promote a positive environment for all members of our community.
