Case Studies on Contra are the core to a great profile and are key to providing clients and collaborators a view of your skills, creativity, and expertise. Here's how to create a project from start to finish on Contra.
💡 Pro Tip: You can post to your profile directly from the feed. Check out this link for more info.
Step 1: Go to your profile and create a new case study
From your Contra profile, head to the Work section and click Create > Case Study. This opens the case study creator where you can start building your showcase.
Step 2: Add visual content to showcase your work
Upload an image or videos that highlight the case study to start building your project. The more high quality visuals the better! To add additional visuals, just type "/" in the editor to see all options.
Recommended file sizes are 1600 × 1200 (max file size is 200MB for videos and images).
Step 3: Tell the story with a strong description
Describe what the work is, how you approached it, and who it was for. The more detail, the better to help clients understand your process and impact. Type "/" to see all text formatting options available.
Step 4: Use content blocks for more customization
Type “/” in the editor to add custom blocks like quotes, numbered lists, animations, or audio. These blocks can help you add creativity to your case study.
Step 5: Click continue to move to details
Once you’re happy with the visuals and description, hit Continue to go to your case study details page. Here, you’ll finalize the details before publishing.
Step 6: Verify your case study if it was completed on Contra
If this work is linked to an existing project on Contra, you’ll have the option to verify it! This adds credibility to your profile and helps future clients trust your work.
Step 7: Add your title, preview description, and cover
Give your case study a clear title, a short preview description, and upload a high quality cover image (this will be the thumbnail on your profile and in Discover).
Step 8: Add collaborators, clients, and project links
Include any collaborators by their Contra handles. If your client doesn’t have a company in our database, you can simply mention them in the project description. Add the project duration and link to the completed work if available.
Step 9: Tag tools, skills, and client industry
Add relevant tools, skills, and the industry your client works in. These tags help surface your work in Discover and help us match you to relevant jobs so make sure they are accurate!
Step 10: Publish your project or save as a draft
Click Publish to make your case study live! Not ready yet? You can save as draft using the dropdown menu next to the "Publish" button and return to it anytime.
Step 11: Editing
To edit any of your published case studies at a later date, just click into the work and click "..." > "Edit".
💡 Pro Tip: Post your work to the feed to share with our creative community! To do this click Share > Post to feed.
