What are Projects?
Projects on Contra are comprehensive showcases of your previous work, providing a holistic view of your skills, creativity, and expertise. They are an essential tool to give potential clients a personal insight into your working style and achievements.
Creating Your Projects
Here's how to create compelling projects to attract potential clients.
Adding Visual Content
Add relevant images, videos, audio embeds or any other links that highlight your work. You can also integrate content from social media platforms like Instagram or YouTube for a more dynamic presentation. To see all of your options, simply select the "+" icon inside your Project's edit page.
Adding Written Content
This is where you tell the story of the project. Here are some guiding questions to help you:
What was the project's objective?
What's the context of this project (brand/company, project owners, purpose of project)?
What problem(s) were you trying to solve?
How did you arrive at your solution?
What did you learn while working on this project?
Is there anything that you would do differently on the next project?
Who was your client? What results did you achieve for them?
Once you're happy with your project's written and visual content, click "Continue" to edit your project's details before publishing, or save your work as a draft.
Completing Your Project's Details
Verify your Project (optional)
If your project is connected to a paid project you've completed on Contra, you can verify this to increase it's credibility! Verified projects give your portfolio more credibility, better visibility, and stronger social proof to attract top clients.
Write your Title & Description
Write a catchy title that summarizes the project here. A good practice is to include the company's name or the project's focus (e.g., "Nike F/W 2021 Website Redesign").
Add your Client(s) (optional)
If your Client is on Contra, you can include their name and/or company name. This can add credibility points to your project.
Skills, Tools & Industry
List the skills and tools used for your project along with the Industry of your Client. This shows your versatility and expertise with different tools, skillsets and industries.
Other Details
You can also add a link to your completed work and your project's start and end dates.
General Tips and Tricks for Projects
Narrative: Make sure to provide a clear narrative of your creative process and collaboration.
Project Scope: Offer some context about the client and the scope of the project. This can help potential clients understand the breadth and depth of your experience.
Quality over Quantity: It's better to have three well-detailed case studies that fully showcase your skills, rather than many projects with less information.
Update Regularly: Keep your Projects updated with your latest work.
Remember, your projects are a reflection of you and your work. Invest time in them, and they will serve as a powerful tool for securing future opportunities!
